The Military Ball, A Salute to the United States Marine Corps
New York City, October 5, 2012. It was an Honor to be amongst the esteemed guests and Honorees in The Cotillion Room and Grand Ballroom of The Pierre Hotel on Fifth Ave. in New York City. The Soldiers', Sailors', Marines', Coast Guard and Airmen's Club saluted the United States Marine Corp. General David H. Petreaus, United States Army retired Four Star General, who has dedicated his life to public service, and is the Director of The Central Intelligence Agency was honored with the esteemed Service to the Nation Award. General John F. Amos Commandant, US Marine Corp was awarded the Distinguished Military Leadership Award. Major General Juan G. Ayala accepted for him. Mitzi Perdue, an American Patriot and widow of Frank Perdue received the Service to the Nation Award and worked tirelessly on the events success. Bob McManus, Editorial Page Editor of The New York Post, a patriot and a scholar was presented the Distinguished Media Achievement Award.
I felt an overwhelming sense of patriotism, just being in the room with the honorees and guests, many from various branches of our nations military who have dedicated their lives to helping others and making our nation a better place for all of us.

The Soldiers’, Sailors’, Marines’, Coast Guard and Airmen’s Club, has been in existance since 1919 continues to fulfill its mission, as the only private organization in the New York area to provide accommodations at subsidized rates and club-type facilities for servicemen and servicewomen, military retirees and veterans and their families visiting New York City.
