An Enchanted Evening; Southampton Hospital's 52nd Gala
Southampton, NY, August 7, 2010. Over 1000 guests attended the 52nd annual Southampton Hospital Gala held under the large white tents at its traditional location on Wickapogue and Old Town Roads. Jean Shafiroff was the chairperson of this illustrious event for the first time. Tonight's evening raised $1.72 million for the hospital. Most of this evenings proceeds will go to the state of the art new Emergency Room generously donated to the hospital by Jenny and John Paulson. The Paulson's donation was over $5 million. The hospital is the only hospital in the Southfork. The Emergency Room services about 27,000 people per year. I spend a lot of time nearby at my home. I am thrilled that the Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department is up and running.
Barclay's Wealth was the Honorary Corporate chair and Tiffany and Company was the Honorary Jewelry Chair. Jean's necklace and earrings are both by Tiffany. Chuck Scarborough was the Master of Ceremonies.
