Southampton, NY, August 15th, 2009. A fundraiser in the form of a children’s concert was hosted by Lauren and Sharon Bush at Southampton Cultural Center’s Levitas Center for the Arts, in order to raise money for a wonderful charity called FEED. This charity was launched in the year 2006 by co-founders Lauren Bush and Ellen Gustafson in order to help feed young children of the world under the age of six going hungry.
One of the many great ideas FEED has is to offer two different sized bears called Plumpy’Nut, one large, one small, and use the money earned from them to feed these children. Plumpy, the larger of the bears costs $60 and feeds a total of five children. Nut on the other hand feeds a total of three and is about half the size of Plumpy. For more information about Teddy Share (the two bears) please contact: info@teddysharebears.com.
Entertainment was provided by a group called Laughing Pizza, who’s music caused young children to dance in the aisles of the Cultural Center. Plumpy’Nut bears were sold. Children left with small boxes containing a gift certificate for Dylan’s Candy Bar in Easthampton, NY and all in all, the afternoon was a great success. For more information about FEED projects, please contact: info@feedprojects.org.
